Our SACS family…
We are an emergency shelter for those fleeing domestic violence and experiencing homelessness.
We have a 15 bed facility in the beautiful Ozarks.
Our mission is to stamp out domestic violence and provide help for those who need it through legal advocacy, education, and community support.
SACS is a nonprofit organization serving men, women and children affected by domestic violence in Sharp, Fulton and Izard counties in Arkansas.
We provide legal advocacy, safe shelter and other related services.

The Case Manager provides both practical advocacy services and support to domestic violence survivors and their children as well as the general homeless in a residential setting. Duties include some or all of the following:
Conducting intakes and assessments with potential residents;
Working with residents to formulate and maintain relevant, meaningful case plans;
Developing and maintaining case records that document services provided to residents;
Providing concrete case management and current, effective resources to residents;
Advocating on behalf of residents with city agencies and other services providers;
Meeting regularly with residents to ensure the family is on track with case plans;
Participating in staff meetings, case conferences, and other meetings as needed;
Facilitate / Co-facilitate support groups as needed;
Building service partnerships with related community-based organizations;
Assisting in the daily operations of the work site
This provides a specialized advocate to assist victims of domestic violence as they proceed through the criminal justice system. This program includes:
Helping survivors understand basic information about the courts, criminal prosecutions, and the role of the survivor/witness;
Informs victims of their rights under the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (VAWA). The VAWA identifies domestic violence as a crime and allows for remedies such as orders of protection and criminal charges.;
Monitors the response of the court system;
Improves victims’ access to the court system;
Provides objective and knowledgeable information about the court process Offers information about survivor rights;
Facilitates the provision of services or other forms of assistance;
Supports and empowers survivors to choose their own options and make decisions;
Assists in dealing with survivor’s feelings as a result of the crime (support groups are available);
Communicates as a Liaison within the system;
Refers to additional services such as shelter, legal assistance, safety planning, crisis intervention, crime victims compensation fund and the
Victim Information Notification Everyday (VINE);
Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing:
This program provides financial assistance and services to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized. The funds under this program are intended to target individuals and families who would be homeless but for this assistance. The funds will provide for a variety of assistance, including:
Short-term or medium-term rental assistance and housing relocation;
Stabilization services, including such activities as mediation, credit counseling;
Security or utility deposits;
Moving cost assistance;
