The Harlem Wizards are looking for Wiz Kids again this year to help them warm up before the March 10 Wizards vs Sharp Shooters Basketball Show at the AL Hutson Center in Highland.
Last year, there were over 30 kids who donned the official Harlem Wizard jersey and helped the Wizards warm up before the big game.
“The kids had so much fun warming up with the Wizards last year. They created this cool grand entrance and got a photo opportunity with the team and all the Wiz Kids,” said Amy Rodola, the chair of the Wiz Kids promotion. “One of the most heart-warming moments was when a mother of one of the Wiz Kids confided that her child, who had a debilitating illness and not able to play in any other sports, could safely be a Wiz Kid. The child was absolutely thrilled!”
Whether you already have a jersey or need to pre-order one and get on the list, please call Amy Rodola at 479-393-9424 to reserve your child or grandchild’s spot and jersey. There are only 75 openings to be a Wiz Kid. Official Wizard jerseys are $45 ($30 for Courtside Plus ticket holders) and any child with a jersey from last year can participate again without having to buy a new jersey. However, if they need a larger size, they can exchange them for a new jersey and receive a $15 discount. Or, give them to a younger brother or sister and buy a new jersey!
Be sure to arrive at the game when the doors open at 6pm to be able to get the jerseys and get on the court. Amy will be down on the court greeting and organizing the kids.
Tickets for the game are being sold for $10 in advance for general admission, but will be $15 at the door. Reserved seats are $15 in advance and include a team poster the team can autograph. Tickets can be purchased in at Triple D Package Store in Ash Flat; FNBC in Ash Flat, Cherokee Village, Highland and Hardy; First Community Bank in Highland and Cave City; Centennial Bank or the Spring Area Chamber of Commerce in Highland.
